Wink Locks!

Updated: Jun 30, 2019

Thanks for your interest in my Wink Locks app for Samsung Wearables!

Wink Locks is a simple utility for locking/unlocking smart locks compatible with Wink. This includes locks from August, Kwikset, Schlage, and Yale. For a full list click here.

Basic Instructions:

After installing the app login using your the e-mail address and password tied to your Wink account.

To select a lock rotate the bezel on your Gear S3/Galaxy Watch/Gear Sport.

To unlock your door, tap the button on the left.

To lock your door, tap the button on the right.

Widget:

You can add a widget for each lock. Add a widget from the app and then click the title of the current lock to change the widget to the lock you want. Rotating the bezel should control which lock the widget controls.

To add/remove locks:

First make sure the lock is added/removed in the Wink app on your phone.

In the Wink Locks app on your watch click the ellipsis on the bottom of the screen. The first option should be "Refresh Locks". This will re-download the locks on your Wink account.

If you have trouble even though you're connected:

If you know that you are connected to the internet and the app refuses to work, try logging out and then logging back in.

In the Wink Locks app click the ellipsis on the bottom on the screen. Rotate your bezel clockwise to select the "Log off" option and then tap "Log off". This will remove your information from the app and close the app.

Then open the app and log back in.

If you have trouble logging in:

If you receive messages that say something other than your e-mail/password is incorrect, or indicate DNS problems, or network issues please contact me at easerlysoftware@gmail.com so that I can troubleshoot the log in process.

Other Tips!

Turn on Gear Lock! This will help secure the stuff on your watch. If you are using Samsung Pay this will already be turned on for at least Samsung Pay. I suggest changing it to work for screen and payments.

Go to your Settings -> Security -> Gear Lock -> Use for. Change it to "Screen and Payments".

For me at least this made Samsung Pay more convenient because it meant putting in my PIN when I put my watch on instead of while waiting in line at the grocery store.

Releases:

1.0.0 - Initial release

1.0.1 - Fixed verbiage and added widgets

1.0.2 - Improved the login screen

1.0.3 - Fixed a glitch in widgets causing it to blank after locking/unlocking

If you got here from Google:

You can download this app by visiting this link from your phone (it must be on your phone):

If you have any suggestions:

If you have any suggestions about this app or ideas for another app for me to write please e-mail me at easerlysoftware@gmail.com.

Again I really appreciate your interest in my app. It took a while to get it up and running.

Thanks again,

Brian
